About Cycling Without Age Australia – Gold Coast Chapter

Cycling Without Age Gold Coast is proud to be a chapter of Cycling Without Age Australia — because everyone deserves to feel the wind in their hair. The movement began in Copenhagen in 2012, founded by Ole Kassow, and what started as a simple act of kindness has now grown across more than 42 countries, all championing one beautiful idea: giving older people and people with disability the freedom to stay connected to their community.

Here on the Gold Coast, we bring that philosophy to life through free trishaw rides — special adaptive bikes piloted by trained volunteers. These rides are all about connection, conversation, and joy. We exist to bridge generations through shared stories, combat loneliness, celebrate community, and offer the simple delight of being outdoors.

Every ride is a gift of time, companionship, and fresh air. No cost. No barriers. Just kindness on wheels. Because everyone deserves to feel valued, included, and part of the world around them.

    Community Funded, Community Driven

Cycling Without Age Gold Coast is powered entirely by community generosity and the hard work that goes into securing grants. We don't receive ongoing government funding —instead, our rides roll forward because locals believe in what we do and invest in the joy we bring. Every donation, every grant, and every act of support helps us maintain our trishaws, train volunteers, and keep our rides free for the people who need them most. It's community spirit in motion, and it keeps the wind in everyone's hair.
